Don’t assume that everything you need is included in a builders price. If it is not considered before contract, then it’s safe to say you will be charged heavily for it later.
- Who is Paying for What?
Who will be paying for each item within the Project Preliminaries. You or your builder? Has your builder allowed for engineering inspections, surveyors etc?
- Understated Allowances
Do your provisional and prime cost allowances closely reflect the value of what you actually want. Eg. There is deception at play if a builder only allows $15K for a kitchen if the one you want will actually cost $40K.
